If you’ve submitted a form on our website and haven’t heard back after 24-48 hours, check your Spam folder to make sure our email didn’t go there. If it did, the following article will walk you through the process to whitelist and email address or domain.
Whitelisting an email address simply means that you allow a sender to send you an email and that email gets delivered to your inbox.
You are telling your email service provider that senders from a particular email address or domain can be trusted.
In this knowledge base article, we’ll cover how to whitelist emails for Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook. Other email service providers usually have a similar workflow, but if you get stuck, just comment below!
How To Whitelist Emails in Gmail
Add a Google Contact
Open your contacts list in Gmail. The fastest method is just to visit the Google Contacts link.
On the Google Contacts page, select Create Contact and fill out the Create New Contact Form. Google will send any incoming emails from your contact list directly to your inbox.
Whitelist Spam Emails
You may receive emails from friends or businesses that end up in the Spam folder before you’ve whitelisted their email addresses. Fortunately, that can be fixed quickly as well.
Open your Spam folder by selecting Spam from the navigation bar and find the email you’re looking for. You’ll see a Spam label at the top of the email. Click the x next to the label to remove it.
Add a Non-Spam Filter
One way to guarantee that a business’s or friend’s incoming emails will never end up in the Spam folder is to create a filter.
From your inbox screen, select Settings (gear icon).
Select See all settings.
Select Filters and Blocked Addresses from the navigation links at the top.
Select Create a new filter.
In the Search mail form, enter either an entire domain you want to whitelist or a specific email address. Use domains to whitelist anyone from a specific business. When you’re done, select Create filter.
On the next form, select Never send it to Spam. Finally, click Create filter.
Once you’re done, you’ll see the new filter show up in the list of filters.
How To Whitelist Emails in Yahoo
Whitelisting an email address in Yahoo is similar to Gmail. Either add the email address to your Yahoo contacts or create a filter.
Add a Yahoo Contact
In Yahoo Mail, select the Contacts card icon in the upper right corner of your Inbox. Select New Contact in the left navigation pane.
Complete the Add Contact form with the business or contact name and email address. Select Save to save the new contact. Yahoo will no longer place incoming emails from this email address in your Spam folder.
Add a Filter in Yahoo Mail
Another way to keep your emails from Spam is to add a filter that ensures the email lands in your inbox.
Select the Gear icon in the upper right corner of your inbox and click or tap More Settings.
Select Filters from the left navigation menu then Add new filters.
In the Add a new filter form, give the filter a name and fill out the domain or the email address you want to whitelist. Select Save twice to activate the new filter.
The filter now appears in the list of filters in the Filters window.
How to Whitelist Emails in Outlook
Like Gmail and Yahoo, the process is the same. You can either add an email address to your contacts or you can create a filter.
Add an Outlook Contact
Adding contacts is just as easy as Gmail or Yahoo. Open your Outlook Online contacts by clicking the Applications icon at the upper left corner of the window, then select the People application.
Type the First Name, Last Name, and Email Address. When you’re done, select Create to create the new contact.
Any email address listed in your Outlook contacts won’t go to the Spam folder.
Adding Safe Senders in Outlook
Adding Safe Senders is a guaranteed way to keep emails out of your Spam folder.
Any email from an address or domains in the Safe Senders list go directly to your Inbox.
